Fertilizer
Mexico relies on imports for all of its fertilizer needs. Not only does this mean higher costs for Mexican farmers, but it also makes Mexico dependent on other countries, particularly Russia and China, for its food security.

Tarafert will be the first local producer of fertilizer in Mexico in more than 20 years and will produce enough granular urea fertilizer to satisfy up to 50% of all fertilizer demand in the country.

Urea fertilizer is safe and easy to use. It increases crop yields which makes it an indispensable ingredient for food production, while reducing the amount of land required for agriculture.
